Yoga Class Descriptions
All Levels Power Vinyasa - Vinyasa in Sanskrit means "to place in a special way," and in the physical practice of yoga this refers to the flow of the class. Teachers link movement with breath to create each unique sequence, putting together postures to strengthen the body, and increase flexibility. All Levels Power Vinyasa is the perfect class for any level of practitioner, and offers props and modifications to tailor poses to each individual. Classes are presented as well-rounded sequences including anything from meditation, breath work, sun salutations, to asana (postures).
Kore Power Flow - This power class demands a mental as well physical focus that builds (K)core strength and increase whole body agility and vigor. Pranayama (breathwork) and asana are practiced together to open students to the possibilities available to them both on and off the mat. Using hands-on adjustments, anatomy focused direction and varied sequencing in her classes to create a sense of Sahadna. NO two classes are alike, but each class will enliven your mind and lift your Spirit.
Power Vinyasa - is an up beat and physically demanding class designed for students that desire advanced asana, breath work, and the study of yogic philosophy in class. Based on the Ashtanga yoga tradition, which is the original “power yoga”. Students will learn to match their movement to their breath while gaining mental and physical strength through the practice. You may want to bring a towel.
Stretch & Sip - Join us for a 45-minute energentic All Levels Vinyasa Flow class. Then join us next door at the Tasting Room Winston Salem for a "You Taste 4-Wines Tasting". Yoga will be taught by Michele Stürtz, PAZ Owner. Arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in and set-up for class. Drop-ins $13, includes wine tasting post yoga class. Drop-ins can only be purchased in person with valid I.D. Minimum age to participate in wine tasting is 21.
Exhale Flow - is a class suitable for Level 1 and Level 2 practitioners taught by our owner Michele herself! Michele links movement, breath, and music together to create a great mix of stretch, strength, and fun. Michele will lead you through guided meditation, breath work, asana (postures), and savasana in order to get you ready for the day to come.
Salutation Flow - This class will be an intermediate vinyasa class. We will be warming up the body by flowing through sets of sun salutations, escalating through a ladder of heart-opening asanas and twists to open the body and ease the mind. This class is intended for those that have taken yoga before, and are ready to jump into a flowing class. Let's get straight into the body, and move out of our minds to bring peace to our day!
Gentle Flow - A calming, stress relieving yoga class to stretch and strengthen the body gradually. Emphasis is on building awareness of the breath and body. Asanas are practices at a slower pace with attention to alignment and detail. Recommended for all levels looking for a soothing, relaxing, and restorative experience, especially those newer to yoga or working with special concerns or injuries.
Warm Chakra Flow - This class brings intention to the vinyasa flow and each posture to properly align, adjust, and soak in the benefits of each asana and the chakra(s) associated with the posture. A mix of balance, strength, flexibility, and breathing techniques are incorporated into every class and each week emphasizes a different chakra. Designed as an intermediate level class, options are given to take it up, or take it down a notch depending on what you desire. The room is heated to a comfortable 85 degrees, perfect for the chilly winter months.
Weekend Reset - This is a Level 2 Vinyasa class designed with the slower pace of the weekend in mind. We’ll move through sun salutations and sequences to explore different poses allowing the breath to be our guide. A few restorative poses may be added towards the end to ease us into savasana.
Prenatal Yoga - This class networks and connects mamas together. The Sacred Journey to Motherhood is a prenatal yoga system evolved to help mothers develop strength, self-awareness and a calm mind to provide the most comfortable pregnancy possible. This class will always include: community building, as well as grounding and centering mom in her pregnant body, pranayama, targeted asana practice to build strength, endurance, flexibility, and some silence or meditation, where she will leave feeling solid, grounded, open, restored, and centered.
